Health is not merely the absence of disease but a state of positive mental, physical, and emotional well-being. For me, music, and especially classical music is healing to the soul and to our bodies thru the vibrations of live instruments.
As a second-year season ticket holder, I have thoroughly enjoyed Le Salon de Musique each month at La Jolla’s Women Club. Each concert features some classical gems as well as debuts of pieces to San Diego played by some of the most talented musicians I have had the pleasure of hearing over my many years of attending symphonies and chamber orchestras on the East Coast and in Europe. Prior to each concert is a divinely articulated mini-lecture by musicologist Nuvi Mehta, his command of music and delivery of the history surrounding each piece or composer is superb.
The post-concert, enjoy a glass of champagne and Q and A with the musicians, followed by sandwiches and salads, and other goodies from the French Gourmet.
A classical concert pianist himself, François Chouchan is the director of Salon De Musique, who brought his wonderful series to us from Los Angeles.
If you are looking for something cultural as well as healing, I invite you to explore the upcoming concert program https://lesalondemusiques.com/23-2/ . The next concert is Sunday, March 5th and features the music of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Juon.
